Three club runners ran a hard and hilly 23 mile race yesterday 9th August over the Black mountains.
Start and finishing in hay on Wye, with a 3.5 mile climb out of hay before you reach the real hills. Hay Bluff, lord Herefords knob down to Capel-y- Fin then up and over a modest hill, before a big climb up to Pen-y-Gadir across the saddle to Waun Fach dropping down to Grwyne fawr reservoir back up to Lord Herefords Knob, Hay bluff then a chance to stretch the legs as you run back into Hay.
In 16th place John Magee 6hours and 10 mins
17th place Roy Silver 6hours and 10 mins
18th place Dave E Williams 6hours 28 mins.

Amazing! I'd struggle to sleep for that long, let alone run! Well done! And Dave was running at Rose Inn only a couple of days later!!! Crazy!

Well done. Looks like it was a full day in the hills. I will be interested to see how the tracker and dibber system worked. The future, or making something very simple over complicated?

Richard, the tracker system worked very well it enabled some supporters ( you know who you are ) to sit in the pub drinking wine while watching the race unfold live on their phones.
The extra cost was about £15 for the tracker + £5 to enter.
Used the dibber a few times, it enables the race organiser to run the race with fewer marshals but still knowing who has passed what section. Great help if things go wrong, you then have an idea where to start looking.
