A reminder about the protocol for getting results added to the club results database – as we’ve had a lot of new members who may not know (also posting for the benefit of our longer-term members who may not be aware).
We request that if you want to have results added, you post on the ‘request to add results’ thread in the forum (link
here:)providing the following information:
• Race name
• Date
• Distance*
• Terrain (road/track/cross country/trail/mixed/fell/mountain)
• Results URL
*(For any off-road or other type of race where the distance may be approximate, we need the advertised race distance, not the distance shown on your GPS device).
If it is a big race (e.g. Cardiff Half, Cardiff Bay 10K) where there are lots of Croups running, or if it is a Championship race, there’s no need to let us know as we will be aware of this, and will pick up the results once they are confirmed.
We don’t necessarily add them straight away, as sometimes it can take a few days or more for results to be finalised, and sometimes initial results postings do contain errors, so we like to wait for them to be confirmed, otherwise we have to do the results twice which obviously creates more work for us.
So this mainly applies either to events where you are the only club member running, or where there are a few of you but it is either a non-local or a low-key event which we may not be aware of.
We do try our best to keep an eye out for where people have been running, but there are only three of us, it is impossible for us to be aware of where all 350+ members are racing, and some results are very difficult for us to find, so it does help us out if you can give us this information.
