I'm sure many of you are currently checking London Marathon results. Massive congratulations to Angharad Mair on regaining the British F55 record today with a fantastic 2:54:49 clocking, three minutes faster than last year. Looks like she had a great battle with previous record holder Treena Johnson from Dewsbury who improved on her own time with 2:55:34. A great split between 35 and 40 km proved decisive.

Results are now flooding in. As always with these things, some people are going to be ecstatic and others gutted. That's marathon running for you: Leading Croups to date: Jerome Edwards 2:36:56 Andy Blair 2:48:03 Emyr Morgan 2:48:58 Angharad Mair 2:54:49 Kevin Summerhayes 2:56:58 Mike Riley 2:57:09 Martin Williams 2:58:04 Matt Pryor 3:01:31 Brian Paynter 3:04:52 Maria Zubizarreta 3:09:28 Phil Cook 3:09:28 Kevin Jones 3:13:49 Marcus Meyrick 3:16:34 Aine Kenny 3:20:25 Gethin Parker 3:22:15
Phil and Maria were early leaders in the London Pride Award with +0:22, but Aine has just recorded -0:17. Congratulations to Josh Griffiths for being first Brit home in 2:14:49. Congratulations to my nephew Ali who ran 2:49:41 and is no doubt enjoying a beer with you in the Old Shades. Well done everyone!

Mick - didn't Andy Blair have negative split of 2 minutes? Also I did actually run today in around 3.06.45, as confirmed on Strava! Don't know why it hasn't registered!

Still looking through all the age group winners and Angharad's run looks the most impressive by a Brit today. Remarkably she would also have won the F45 and F50 sections today, and would have been third in the F40 (section won by Chrissie Wellington 2:49:01) Looking at a couple of big names from the international marathon scene from the past who performed well today. Martin Fiz of Spain, now 54 with a PB 2:08:05 and previously European Champ in 1994 and World Champs in 1995 ran 2:29:32. Dominique Chauvelier, from France, bronze medal in the European Champs of 1990 and a PB 2:11:24 won the over 60 title today in 2:52:48.
