I had to get footwear for the Gwent League but as I only run Cross Country a few times a year at most Spikes felt like a waste of money at £65 ish.

I got some nice new Brooks Glycerin 14 for the road as I needed a new pair and I also invested in a lovely pair of Saucony Trail shoes as they are really versatile and would be great in many other multi terrain races I would like to do.

If the the conditions are dreadful on Cross Country will a decent pair of trail shoes stand up to it? Im not going to be quick so felt it wasnt a bad time to experiment.

They seemed to think I would get away with it but I think it could be very condition dependant. Dryer could be better, but boggy? Well im not sure about that.Confused

Evening Lyndon!
Well in my limited off road or grass type events...what ever they are called LOL
The ones with the lugs on are the best by far.
I learned that the hard way after slipping and sliding my way through Porth Kerry.
Trail lug type ones made a massive difference on the Magic Round about. :)
