Hi guys

A few of us have arranged a little trip up to the Coed-y-Brenin trail running centre, just North of Dolgellau (www.runcoedybrenin.com) on the weekend of 12th – 14th August.

www.logcabinswales.co.uk - this is where we are staying. Smallest cabins sleep 4 people and the bronze cabin option costs £318 for Fri-Sun (so £79.50 pp if there are 4, or £159 pp if there are only 2). Other cabins sleep 6 in 3 bedrooms and the bronze option cost £375 (so £62.50 pp). Some cabins take pets. There is also a bunkhouse if loads of people are interested (minimum of 10 people at £26 per night).

As well as the trail running centre:
Coed-y-Brenin is a Mountain Bike trail centre.
Dolgellau now has a park run (with a great little café chosen for post-run coffee and cake!).
For those that fancy a hike, or have partners that rather walking to running, Cadair Idris and Snowdon are both only about 45 mins drive away.
The nearest beaches are 20 mins away (Barmouth and Fairbourne).

There is no plan, other than for it to be a chilled weekend, where people can do whatever they want to do! So the more the merrier!!

If you fancy coming along too, you can reserve a cabin for 10 days before they need payment (enough time to get a group of people together). You can only do this by calling them on 01766540219 / 555 – if you book online you will need to pay a 50% deposit there and then.

It might be easier to post here if you are interested so others can see BigGrin

I am interested but would have to apply to the boss for a weekend pass and also make sure I am not in work that weekend.

Great idea and thanks for advertising. Maybe we can discuss later in the week or after parkrun on Saturday.

Fab :-) I'm afraid I wont be there on Saturday but certainly go ahead, discuss and ask others to gage interest. Hope to be at the club Thursday if you want to ask anything and at parkrun the following weekend.

Hi guys

Just bringing this back up to the top of the thread as the Coedy weekend is fast approaching! Woo hoo (lets pray for some sun ...or at least some dry weather :-) )

There's only 3 cabins left that sleep 6, so if anyone is interested I'd get booking asap (there's quite a few left that sleep 4 but will work out more expensive per person). Alternatively there are plenty of campsites in the area.

So at the moment - Phil, Maria, Aine, Sarah, Rich and myself are booked to go. Planning to leave Cardiff Friday morning to arrive in plenty of time to do something when we get there. Dolgellau parkrun Saturday morning then perhaps a hike around Cadair Idris in the afternoon. I'm quite keen to check out their half marathon route so perhaps a plan for Sunday, but everything is flexible! There's also the lovely Castles leg to Barmouth for those not keen on hills and trails. I know Rich wants to get out on the mountain bike so that's another option too.
