I notice Nike has put the air bubble back into it's trainners. I remeber having a pair but the bubble burst when I put them in the washing machine to try and clean them up. Not a good idea! I have since heared that the rate of injuries went up due to the air bubble, so I was wondering what other people throught about the air bubble. You still get ones without the bubble.

As always with trainers, I think it's case of finding a model that you are comfortable with and that suits your running. I think that those factors are the biggest predictors of injury, not the presence or absence of some technical feature/gimmick. I, too, remember the media reporting of an increase in injuries with Nike Air. I remain uncertain whether this was because of the bubble itself or because people bought them because they were fashionable with no regard as to whethr they were suitable.
PS. What's all this about people cleaning their trainers?... :-P

I agree with you Matt - the awful smell and inch thick dirt are badges of honour aren't they?!

Yeah, I never trust a runner with clean trainers.
