Human Being Active (HBA) organise a number of events in the Llanelli area, like the Llanelli half and the Great Welsh Marathon. I've done a lot of their events and this year, back in March/April, I was 2nd in their 20 miler and won their Great Welsh Marathon, both of which were said to have prize money amongst other things.
After the 20 miler they said they'd send the prizes out in the post shortly. Then after the Marathon, they said the prizes would be sent out in the post, along with the 20 mile prizes. Guess what? Still no prizes!
I've emailed numerous times, posted on their Facebook page, and each time have either not had a response, or they've replied saying they'll do it ASAP...but still no sign. They've even asked for my bank details twice so that they could pay it, but still nothing!
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one, as I think Janet is also still waiting for her prize money from the half marathon.
Now, I'm pretty sure it's not much money anyway, and I don't really care about the money as I would've competed anyway, BUT it's the principle of it. It's not right to advertise something, verbally promise something, write it in emails, but then not deliver.
It's definitely put me off doing any of their events again, which is a shame as I used to enjoy them.

A few of us did the Llanelli tri several years ago and there was a cock up with the marshals so the run was chaos and the race abandoned. They informed us that we would get a refund and I am still waiting.

Hi Ollie, I was second in my age category when I ran the Lannelli half last year. By the time I got to the finish line something had gone wrong with the electronic timings but I only found this out after waiting for over an hour after I had finished to receive my prize . All the prizes were there but I was told my prize , some sort of trophy , would be sent when they had sorted everything out but as you can guess I never heard from them again ! Sue.

Still waiting too! Have had some contact with Tim Gasser from HBA, who has also taken my bank details twice. He's now taken to ignoring my emails and the phone just rings through to an answer machine!

Is there a particular person in Welsh Athletics who we should contact?

Alex Donald from Welsh Athletics, comes down the club some Thursday's, if he down this Thursday I will let him know of the situation.

If they didn't pre state their prize categories on their entry forms for the 20 and Marathon, it is then up to them how they distribute them. On looking at their website, they did this for the Half, but I could not find any info on the other races. If they did not give all/or none at all, they could well have put their future requests for permits in jeopardy. They also include Welsh Athletics as one of their partners.

The organiser from HBA (Tim Gasser) was once on the Welsh Athletics Road Running Committee and was previously a qualified Course Measurer, before Phil's time. He would be well aware of race procedure's.
