Lyndon.. thanks. Much appreciate the lift. I wish they allow skateboard in the race as you'd have to wait a bit for me to finish! I can meet you at the club if that is easiest for you. Just let me know what time's best for you. If you need to reach me mobile is 07702973874 and I am probably going to wear my trail shoes as it's multi-terrain. Thanks again A Edited by user 30 October 2014 20:49:48(UTC)

Having done a 'Paul Morris' weekend before last, my right knee and right ankle took a bit of a bash. Limped around for a few days. Ascending/descending stairs was a bit of a challenge. So although I am no longer walking around like a pirate with a wooden leg, ankle is still tender so I think it is wise not to attempt a multi-terrain Sospan 10. I cannot risk aggravating a healing sprain and be out of action for even longer than the last week.
So Lyndon - thanks for the offer for a lift, now there's one more space in your car.
I have also checked with the organiser and I can transfer my entry and I am just waiting to hear from them how to do this. So if anyone is interested, let me know.
I am disappointed as this is one race I have always wanted to do and have not been able to do so due to injuries...hmm...must be destiny!!

Hi Ai-Lin. Sorry to hear about your injury. Im going to do his race but haven't entered yet. If you have that place still available, I will take it if its still possible to transfer? Let me know if you need any details (names, age, etc.). I'll be at Parkrun on Saturday or at the club on Thursday.

Aine...i'll email the organisers that you will be replacing me. Also when you get there, inform them as well that you are my replacement. See you at parkrun. Edited by user 12 November 2014 22:56:33(UTC)

I've had a chest infection all week, so unfortunately I'm not going to be able to run this one now. Thoroughly enjoyed it last year too. If anyone is interested in taking over my place, let me know. I'll then contact the organisers and let them know about the transfer. Cheers

Cheers Bad luck Gafin I know how you feel its horrendous when that happens. I have got a cold but it hasn't got on my chest yet. Im taking antibiotics for toothache which might cure it if it is bacterial which I suspect it is.

Cheers Lyndon. I have had croup/ chest problems ever since I was a kid and any sign of a cold almost always ends in my chest. Just something I have to live with I guess. Echinacea usually helps a bit but not on this occasion. Hope it stays away for you. No worries Stu. Hope everyone has a good race

Great conditions today and a great race …………but the course was incorrectly laid out, so the leading runners including the first lady went badly off course.
Despite running around in circles before eventually finding the way back, Oliver Williams won the race.
Matt Hurford first vet 35, Lyndon Tudor-Maisey 3rd vet 35, Aine Kenny 3rd senior lady, Dave Coles first vet 55, Julie Scholey first vet lady 55.
I'd like to propose Oli's route for next year as it avoids the slog on the beach!

Noo. I loved the beach part . It was nice and compact and rather calm. The last 1.5 miles was the toughest part. Well done to the quicker ones that were laid astray - it pays to be slower at times!

A fantastic but quite challenging race today! I had a poor start but managed to hang on after making life very difficult for myself. The steep sandbanks that seemed to appear whenever I was starting to get it together are certainly memorable, I don't know how I made it up the last one! I think the Drill Sargent they put at the top helped a bit. About 6.5 miles in, a couple of hundred metres before the water station, I panicked a bit because the ribbon looked like it was supposed to be covering that route. I followed the runners going down it and thankfully it was the correct route. The beach was much easier than I though it would be as it was nice and firm underfoot. I was disappointed to see that Matt had gone wrong at the end due to tape in the wrong place. I hope that didn't cost him the first Vet prize. I must admit I was disappointed that there wasn't a team prize as that was a big motivator for me. I don't know if we would have won but it would have been nice to have it to fight for. Other than that it made a nice change and I would do it again. Anybody know when the results tend to come out for this one? By the way cheers Alun for giving me your place.
