Sorry to give such a poor description of the route, but this year's route was .... more demanding than last year and did contain elements of the course used hundreds of years ago.

The queues were rather long but things can only improve.

Afterthought - the cakes were tasty.

Not sure what impression other runners got of this event, but for Stuart and I, running together in just over an hour, the congestion on the course was downright frustrating. Despite an alternative route near the start avoiding the narrow lanes/footpaths of previous years, the huge jump in numbers of entrants meant we were over halfway round before we were running anything like our desired pace. Runners were very understanding in moving to one side if we asked to pass, but for 5.5k there just wasn't space to pass folks. Careful consideration needed before entering next year.

It certanliy has become a very popular autume 10k. The new ciourse was alot tougher more like the orginal course when it was held in January, good trainning thought for the tenby and Snowdona marathon never too earlier to start trainning for those marathons. There are plans to send the numbers out next year which make sence. The t=shrirts were better this year although the colour did remind of my school jumper! Disappointted to see so many people wearing head phone. Problaly will be there next year! A good challenging 10k and nice cakes! Shame there was no dark fruit cider at the beer stop!

Thanks for reminding me Tracey. I must admit to be being taken aback by the sight of a beer stop. Medoc Marathon anyone?

Agree with your words Karen
You did a very good job at guiding under difficult circumstances.

Turning a negative into a positive though.
Sandom 20 is the same price as Richard Burton!
£18.
RB worked out to £3 per mile

Now SD's price that's a real bargain!
I vote that we change our club routine a tad
Yes, changing routine, don't panic

Why don't we live on the edge and get as many Croups signed up for SD's run in March???
18-03-18.

Plenty of time for lovely training through the Welsh winter. :)

Come on...you know that you want to.

Croups on the move woop woop!

The San Dom 20 is a tough race, hilly and mixed terrain. If you're training for London marathon beware, because the San Dom 20 will suck the life out of you. Don't do what I did and overdo it with the 20 mile races in the weeks leading up to London.

Just been checking on San Dom website. Run under Welsh Althetics rules and permit applied for and course meaurement certificate TBA. Is it posssible to put it back onthe clubs champs? You certainly need to do at least one 20 mile race or trainning run if you are planning a spring marathon. I did the San Dom when it was St Fagins golf club ( millions of yesrs ago before I came to croups) as part of my London trainning. It was tough but was glad I did it. May I recommend the Barry 40 nice and flat!
