Yes sunner is here! Less clothes to wear! By the way where is Norman? I'll be there but possible not the July one as I think I'm away then. But I think I'll give the pole Vault a miss!

the age categories are as last season:
W35-49; W50-59; W60 + M80
M35-49; M50-59; M60-79.

To win both League Titles we need 2 scoring athletes in each age group in every event except the Pole Vault. Numbers are more important than class. Nonetheless, for those who do well there is the possibility of representing Wales at Solihull in July.

We also need volunteers to help with measuring jumps and track judging at at our home fixture at Jenner Park.

Why such big age gaps? Big difference between a 35 and 49 year old. Then again in some races there are only 5 year age gaps.

Glad to see such a positive response. I agree that next week will be busy but a good turnout on Wednesday, even after the VLM etc, will put us in a good position for the season. Can we get two teams out for the relays?

A reminder that a track 3000m is part of the Short Course Championships this season. You know you love it.

it was a busy night at the track - not helped by severe congestion on the M4. We had 14 athletes competing but the results will be on the Welsh Masters' website soon. Rather cool on the track last night but warmed by a terrific battle in the 3000m.

We had two teams in the 4 x 400m relay and successfully retained Norman (The Gnome) against Port Talbot.

Congratulations to all who took part.

Looking forward to the Centre of the Universe (aka Barry) and Jenner Park on 28th May.

THANKS Mike for persuading the doubters to come along to this to give it a try (eg me!)....this was a GREAT evenings entertainment!!!- For anyone not sure if the track meets are `their thing` I would highly recommend to give it a go... where else can you race on the track, do the triple jump , discus and hammer throw , all for £4 !

Most of the results have been resolved.
The women's team won its fixture.
I would like to thank Phil Cook who enabled Derek Osborne to compete in the Pole Vault, and Sarah Meah who helped Pauline Pugh with registration, for volunteering in the designated Cardiff and Newport home fixture.

In the women's individual competitions, three ladies have made competitive starts in the W35-49 age group with only a few points between Juliet Sidney of Lliswerry, Sarah-Lynn Thompson of Les Croupiers and Anna Ciolek of Brecon.
Julie Scholey has 156 points and a lead of 108 points in the W50-59, and Eirian has 156 points and a lead of 108 points in the W60/M80 age group.

Tracey Newman ran all four races and the relay.
Sarah-Lynn ran both sprints and the relay and scored in the Triple Jump and the Discus where she threw 17m20 which is creditable for a novice.
Jo Tucker ran the 3000m.

Julie Scholey ran all four races and the relay and scored in the Triple Jump, Hammer and Discus.

Eirian also ran all four races and the relay and scored in the Triple jump, Hammer and Discus where a throw of 19m94 was not only a personal best but also the third best outdoors in Britain this year. Last year it would have been enough for second in the W60-64 group.

Juliet Sidney, Sarah-Lynn and Julie were all competing in the caged throws for the first time. It would be good if more of our women members came along and competed in the field events in our home fixture at Jenner Park on Thursday 29 May.
