I have to say that this race was pretty good. The course although abit twisty was flat and fast and there was water at the half way mark. As with any new race there is some issues that need to be sortted out, having more marshals on the course, keeping the finish line clear for runners rather than allowing Joe Public walking there and supervising the bag tent. There was the usual issue with dogs, one very hypo dog ran in front of me but the marshal said nothing to the owner. I beleive this race has potiential particularly if they can get the clubs and Welsh Althetics on side. There was quite a few club runners there including around 10 from our club. I finished around 57mins with Gwen just over takening me and as that around the correct time for me to do a 10k then I can't realy say it was short or long unless anyone knows different.

Well done Tracey. Maybe Gwen wouldn't have beaten you if you had not wasted your energy shouting abuse to us poor pedestrians walking quietly in the park!!! Well done everyone

Tracy it was neither short nor long, it was acccurate. Phil measured it. Smile Was quite a twisty course though with a few sharp about turns. Marshalls were in the main spots and they'd used tape and cones to good effect to highlight the route but a few more marshalls couldn't do any harm as at some points there were people gathered but they weren't wearing any bibs and didn't appear to be giving directions so I couldn't be sure they were actually marshalling. All told it seemed to go off pretty well although they may need more than 2 portaloos if numbers grow Scared

Good course, but had a few sharp bends in it though, hope this race continues for next year as I will do it again as it is accurately measured, you can always trust Phil on that score. I had a bit of a shocker myself though, I was disappointed in my performance with 41:49, even though I have cut down a little bit on training lately due to an injury and colds too, I thought I would get around in 40:20 - 40:40, but good to find out where I am though as I am 100% fit now and will be buckling down to more rigorous training sessions from now on with my next aim to get in to the castles vets team and posting a good time in the 10 miler in May.
