This event incorporates the final fixture in the South Wales Running League, therefore we need as many Ladies and Gents to enter as possible in order that we can hang onto our narrow leads in both the Men's and Ladies sections. The Men lead from Aberdare while the Ladies are holding off Pontypridd.

Here is the link to the entry page https://cardiffxchallenge.wordpress.com/enter/

Graham Finlayson has said that entries are picking up and if the race limit is reached then they will close before the official closing date so do not delay getting your entry done.

James I've entered too so we'll both be lapped together. Sarah I do recomend joining Welsh Masters but do it now before the price goes up.

I am thinking of entering this race.... just confirming that I need to complete the online entry myself as an individual runner and not simply state here an intention to run (because if memory serves correctly every xc race I've entered to date has been sorted for me as if by magic) x

Hi Claire
You need to enter this one yourself.
In the Gwent League and other championships races, it makes life easier to know in advance who's running and we do a block booking. The club also pays the entry fee for you (yet another good reason, should anyone be casually reading this thread, to pay your £35 annual membership promptly).
But this race tends to attract a smaller club entry. It is, however, part of a much bigger series, and a great opportunity to see and race against cross country runners from all parts of the UK. We're lucky to have it on our doorstep!

Thanks Mick!
As you point out it's on our doorstep so not far to crawl home afterwards, will defo sign up if my diary is empty! :-)

Cheers for the link, James. Now that my legs have recovered I can safely say that I really enjoyed this event - and also avoided being lapped :-)

Well done to everyone that ran. Shame it is not better supported as it is a great experience to see 'real' athletes showing us how it is really done and to put yourself up against the best in the UK.
Special mention to Huw Evans for winning the v40 category and Sue Watson for the same in the womens. Elio won his age category too.
