Time to put in some suggestions for next year, in the championship that takes cake eating seriously. Last year's most popular races were Forest of Dean 33 Kymin 31 Pentych 29 Offas 21 Sirhowy 17 Magic R 17 Riverbank Rollick 16 Tintern 11 Craig Y Allt 11 Sugarloaf 5 Llanthony 5 Wentwood 5 The last 3 races are all good and deserve to be more popular. I also plead that XC is taken off this championship. It really is different. Also the XC points dominate the final score in a way that is disproportionate, this discourages the less able but keen from benefiting from running the whole series. Have your say......... I would like to see the off road championships driven by the following:
1. Good cake at the end - Chepstow and Thornbury Running clubs are good at this;
2 Close to Cardiff;
2. Under £15;
3. Local races run by local running clubs;
4. Cake
The Riverbank Rollick must be in for the cake smorgasbord at the end - its been tried and tested numerous times now, and it would be good to see Craig Y Allt included as it is a race organised by a Les Croupier Member.
It would be good to see a few more summer series fell races included.

Richard, I also dont see how cross country and off road are the same when the club also has a cross country champs (or I think it did in 2014). My critiera are 1. Can you enter on the day (given forest of dean is a great half marathon that one is still good to include). 2. Cheap 3. Close to cardiff. I know the roman Run has road but so does the sospan 10 and its a great event. Perhaps we could reinclude? My view of these events would be Include definate Forest of Dean (and provide a bus again..!) Regarding the cross country/off-road debate, I'd agree that maybe it shouldn't be part of the off-road champs, as it has it's own cross country champs. Also, using positions over the gwent league isn't always fair either, as the standard of competition can vary greatly between events. However, it seems daft to have an "Off-road" champs, that excludes the only event currently in it that is 100% off-road! Considering this, maybe it would be an idea to rename the current "off-road" champs to the "multi-terrain" champs, and then keep the XC separate with it's own championship? Just a thought.

As for events, I think all of the ones we use are good! Bog and Bryn gets my vote to be added, and def keep FoD half in. Porthkerry 5 is great too.
I suppose if we argue that XC is different to Off-road, we could also argue that Fell races are different to standard Off-road.... Sounds like a debate for Jeremy Vine!

There is a x country club championships, the results of which are available at the end of the season. Fell runner and off road running are both different. Les Croupiers is not officaliy an fell club but memebers do fell races because they want to just like memeber do event such tough guy and triathons. Do we want to overlead ourselves with championships? After all we could have a multi terrian champioships or an assault coure champs? Richard no one less able!

Agree with nearly all that's been said above & lists of races, lots to choose from & some new ones incl fell. Agree with keeping costs low so that anyone can participate in champs. Local & cake a definite benefit! Porthkerry 5 needs inclusion. Great for newbies & local sunny Barry. Not keen on Sospan 10 anymore. Great course & event but prizes poor. Split on 35+yr age groups & no 60+. Expensive to enter at £17 online only, incl £2 supplement. Long way to travel. Take out XC for reasons given above. Have a good year! Riverbank Rollick is a fab off-road / multi terrain race to go for - if only for the MOUNTAINS of cakes at the end - See Tim and Graeme for an unbiased opinion!

The date for the 2015 Riverbank Rollick is Sunday 18th January 2015 at 11 am. Click here for the Rollick flyer 2015 which has a summary of the information below.

The 11th Rollick promises lots of fresh air, country paths (many with generous mud) and wonderful vistas overlooking the River Severn and a free drink and cake at the end.
Minimum age 17. Entry Fees £8 ARC affiliated, £10 non affiliated. Cut off time is 2 hours. Entry Limit 400.
The race has been run for 10 years now, and has gained a good local reputation for being well organised with friendly supportive marshals and helpers. It has established quite a reputation for MUD, which can usually be relied on, and runners perversely seem to enjoy this. But you can clean your shoes off when you splash through the stream just before the Finish, at no extra charge!
Course. The Riverbank Rollick is 9 miles long with 120m of ascent and is 90 per cent off-road, mainly on trails and across fields. It starts at the Pithay near St Mary’s Church, Thornbury, and goes out to St Arilda’s Church at Oldbury, down to the scenic Severn Riverbank and along the estuary for about 1.5 miles past Whale Wharf with views of the Bridge and Chepstow, then back through the village of Littleton Upon Severn and over Thornbury Golf course to return to the Playing Fields. The 2015 course should be the same as 2014, subject to confirmation..
There is a water station at Littleton, approximately 5.8 miles, 9 km, from the start.
Note that some sections are on private land with the owners’ permission only for the race.At other times please follow paths clearly marked as public footpaths or bridleways.

I'd like to put in a vote to continue the inclusion of some races that are not of the "straight up, straight down" variety, ie Porthkerry, Magic Roundabout and Riverbank Rollick...at least until I've been to a few more Monday night hill sessions!
