To a few newer members,, if you fancy an alternative to speed work on a wednesday evening try this.. loads of fun.. I've done a few of these last year. (well one per year perhaps)..but i'd highly recommend doing one, and pairing up if you have not done one before 1 hour of great fun.. you need a head torch, reflective cloths, a sense of direction and have some fun.. a lovely crowd to boot.. see the web site.. Caroline Dallimore and family are regurlars. Date: Wed 16-10-2013 Type: Evening Street Event Closest town: Cardiff Evening Street 1hr Score Event . Mass Start 7.00pm, Tynant Inn, Morganstown. http://www.swoc.org.uk/Tim, Richard Self, and others often go too..

Thanks for sharing James (and Caroline/Nick/SWOC for organising) Great fun these street orienteering events - the 'undulating' streets and off-road terrain of Radyr and environs also make for a lively 60 mins of hill/interval session But best of all you get to wear a headtorch

Event is suitable for the young, old and lame (me). I hope that my daughter will look back on our adventures last year around the alleys of Newport with fondness one day

Here are the details of tomorrow night's event - weather looking good for the evening I'll bring a spare headtorch in case someone wants to borrow one (one can never have too many...)

Yes all set for this evening, we are the organisers tonight. It would be great to have more Croups along, just turn up and do nt forget a pen! Suitable for everyone, walk or run to find as many controls in an hour. Under 16s must be accompainied by an adult.

My son and I did the Danescourt street event earlier this year and we're coming back for more tonight. And bringing a friend!

Thanks Caroline and Nick for another great street orienteering event - very enjoyable, and (for me) the novelty of feeling OKish, horribly unfit but not carrying an injury (after two years of misery) - and so, inevitably, the adrenalin kicked-in and I ran, and ran, and ran, running and missing controls, running and getting lost, running down blind alleys, running without consulting the map, or time left on the clock, running without any hint of a plan, running without checking that I'd actually recorded the control just bagged, running and bagging the same control twice (so much did I enjoy it first time round)
The ultimate headless chicken! But who cares - and I feel almost guilty that others have yet to discover and enjoy.
