Well Lyndon.

You've had a good year. And, some great races with quality pacing too. Many from the club have run this race with fairly good reviews.

You have the talent to run a marathon, if you continue your excellent pace judgement then you a lot of potential.

Good luck.. I wont be doing a marathon for some time but will be happy to join people for longer runs in the spring.

Manchester's marathon has a really good reputation, and it's a predominantly flat course too I believe. There will be other Croups running this one next year for sure. I think you should go for it Lyndon; you'll need to be strong of mind as well as of body, and I reckon you can run a sub 3 time. ThumpUp

I ran Manchester marathon this year it was my second after Edinburgh. Much preferred manchester I have to say. Start/finish by old Trafford easily accessible from city centre hotels. route is really really flat through suburbs so good level of support all the way round. Really enjoyed it and would recommend/plan to do it again, also great city for a celebration after!

Yeah I'm quite tempted to do this if Thursday nights draw has its predicable outcome.

I ran Manchester this year, and as Shaun said it's well supported, organised and very flat. We stayed in Media City which was a 5/10 minute walk from Old Trafford. I would do it again. The only downside is driving and the M5/M6 traffic delays...
