Hi,
I'm thinking of getting a head torch for training in the dark.
The Petzl range looks good.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hi Kevin,

Yes Petzl gear is excellent. I have used a lot of it in my mountaineering/caving work. However the head torches are quite expensive. Have a look at www.alpkit.com, they do a range of head torches at very good prices. I have used the Gamma head torch a lot. One did fail on me but only after about 5 years of hard use in a wide variety of places. I immediately replaced it with the same model.

The Gamma (£15) has the added advantage of a rear red light on the back battery container so you can use it for your lighting system on a bike.
