Some of you will know that in my younger days, I was a proud member of The Royal Marines Reserve. This year is the 350th anniversary of The Royal Marines. Every Royal Marine, both serving and retired, regular or reserve, has been challenged to raise at least £350 for The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund (RMCTF), to mark the occasion. I have accepted the challenge and am asking you to sponsor me to run the Cardiff Half Marathon. The RMCTF aims to support their wounded, those who continue to serve in high threat environments, those who need support having left The Corps, and sadly the next of kin of those who die.
