Just a heads up about forthcoming events.

So far the only confirmed Gwent league fixture is 12th October at Bridgend.

The others will be on the following weekends, but there are no other details as yet

8/9th Nov, 6/7th Dec, 7/8th Feb, 28th Feb/1st March

For those who are interested the British and Irish Masters Cross Country championships are in Nottingham on 22nd November.

Time to remember where you put the spikes BigGrin

Good Post, Alan.
Every club runner aspiring for a good 2015 summer season, whether it be the short course championship, a summer of track running or just to strengthen their running depth should consider the cross country season as a base.
Any club members representing the club are sponsored by the club to run the Gwent Leagues and Welsh Champs and we often have a coach (Free) to the further events. It's a "no brainer" really. Therefore by competing for the club you are also covering the cost of your annual subs as everything is free.

On the dates though, you have mixed up the dates slighty. The Gwent Leagues dates are correct, but the Nottingham date is for the B&I Masters International, not the Championship. The BMAF Champioships are in Wales this season, at Ruthin in March and the BMAF Relays are in Derby in October. (All fixture details on the BMAF website) Perhaps Les Croups could send some teams up to Derby, we are good enough to win medals there.

We should be sending male and female teams to all relays, x-country and road, we're a big enough club.
So come Croups "Don't think what your club can do for you, think what you can do for your club" and it's a great day out!!

If these are on a Sunday I will definitely be interested in running. Saturdays could be more problematic for me though. Count me in if we need a slower, older competitor if they are on a Sunday.

I know I said this last year before something came up but... Count me in for the trip to Derby in October. I might even be able to run again by then.

Derby?? What's bringing them up there? I'll be happy to take part in anything from mid-November onwards.

...... as is Builth Wells, venue of the Welsh Inter regional and Masters Cross Country Championships on 13th December. A demanding course, but lots of fun. The faster ones can run for the region, the rest of us can run for the team. There's tea and cake.

Cheers for heads up on x-country - Derby relays are same weekend as Snowdon Marathon and close to the other Autumn marathons - Berlin, etc which will take out a lot of potential runners unfortunately. Be better if they were after Christmas.

no bath.. what do you mean :-(

1 hour in a car for a 6 mile race / run or 15 mins cycle down to llandaf fields.. easy preference for me.

Bath is a good course I always have a decent run there. At least there's no Pontypool!
