Just a quick word to congratulate everyone racing in yesterday's inaugural Severn Bridge Half Marathon.
Conditions were ideal, cool, dry and thankfully very little wind.
It was a great day for the club with Steve Paterson winning in 1:14:26.
The men's team won (Steve Paterson, Matt Hurford, Martin Williams and James Bruce) and our ladies were third (Janet Holmes, Aine Kenny and Veronica Singleton-Lawley).
There were also Age Category wins won Matt Hurford (M40) and Mike Murphy (M60).
As you may be aware, there were some problems with chip timing, so at present results are provisional (hence I haven't listed them here). It is worth checking the Rogue Runs website to ensure your result is correct, and inform them of any gliches. That said, it was an enjoyable race, great scenery, and thanks to all who organised or volunteered.
On a final mischievous note, it was a nice touch to have Nick Rose as guest starter and presenter of the prizes. Now 62, Nick is the former UK record holder for the Half Marathon (61:03 at Philadelphia 1985) and looks remarkably fit. In fact, it might have been interesting if he'd run.

I considered doing this but in honesty I decided against it because it looked difficult.

I am going to continue to target the Cardiff Half. I have had to put all of my eggs in one basket this year because of various problems along the way.

Well done to everyone who ran I'm really pleased we did so well.ThumpUp
