Hi All - message below from those nice people at Cardiff Triathletes - don't delay in signing up or else you may miss your chance to swim in the azure-clear waters of Barry Island. Cardiff Triathletes have teamed up with the Vale of Glamorgan Council to host the first Barry Island Aquathlon. The event which will be held on Sunday 28th September 2014, start time 09.15. to coincide with high tide. The race involves a beach start followed by a 650m open water swim in Whitmore bay. Transition will be in the Eastern Shelter, followed by a flattish 5 km scenic run along the Wales Coast Path, finishing along the promenade. The event will be chip timed and trophies will be awarded for the first male and female finishers. Safety cover will be present during the swim and the event will be suitable for both novice and experienced open water swimmers. The cost is £15 BTF, £18 non BTF. Thank you for your support and we hope to develop the event into a sprint distance triathlon next year.
