Over the last few Sundays I have really enjoyed the 15 mile runs that some of the group have been doing. I was thinking to add variety to this, what about adding a 2nd course as another alternative to the one we are doing now up to Caerphilly and back. How about starting at the same place in Llandaff Fields but this time going the other way to Penarth and back via the bay. There are some hills up around the Penarth area we could use and im guessing we could make a 15 mile run out of this. Give me your thoughts on this, ultimately it would have to be up to Mick as he organises these runs and does a great job too.

Marcus - good idea, and we have been over to Penarth a few times anyway, including the hills near the barrage. The route towards Caerphilly is particularly useful in sunny weather, as it is mostly shade, and most people can probably find their way back if we are separated and not familiar with the route. Also the barrage has had the bridge up a few times we have crossed- not sure if this was just bad luck, but that can be a delay of around 10 minutes. As far as Mick and I are concerned, we want the run to be for all, with faster runners turning back to keep the group together, and we hope everyone participating keeps to this, as it is supposed to be an easy group run for many different levels. Obviously there will be natural groups occurring anyway, which is fine, but we want to encourage it as a group run. Distances are also variable for different people, and we will be increasing time on the feet as the summer progresses.

Hope to be there this Sunday. May look to add couple of miles to make it 16_17 if anyone fancies that.

Thanks, Marcus! I don't really see this as organising anything - I'm simply looking for company as 2 hours running is a long way! Dave has already said much of what I intended - happy to go with the flow, although out of preference I like le col du coq noir, and I got a bit cheesed off with waiting for the bridge to open when we ran down the bay. Look forward to seeing you all on Sunday at 9.30.

HI guys, not going to be free until 10, so will aim to run down from Tongwynlais to meet you and join you for rest of the route before running back,
Rob

Thanks Dave, Mick reiterated what you stated on Thursday to me and I totally understand and it makes logical sense too. As you said people can do shorter or longer runs with the course we do and also being it has been very warm lately, the course has a lot of shade in it. I have been caught out with the barrage myself too, I had to 5 - 10 minutes for the gates to open again so this can be disadvantage sometimes.

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for another great run. Envisage this continuing for a while yet until the marathon gets a bit closer when I'll have to think about some proper training.

Yes, and well done to Mike particularly for making the whole distance. Brilliant that most of the run was in the shade too.

I will be there this Sunday & will be doing the full distance 15 miles - so anyone wanting to do more can get those extra miles in by running back to the back of the group to say hello to me.

Excellent Ange - that's the spirit. Time on feet, look after each other, and first one back buys the drinks, as an extra incentive to stay out longer!

Yes 9.30 start - good to hear of more people joining in. Rob Sage even doubled as the group domestique last Sunday as he'd stored water for us in Tongwynglais. What a caring group it is!

Cheers Mick, hoping to join in again this week, and will provide water dump in Tongwynlais again as weather looks to stay on the warm side!

I'll certainly join in come August (2nd weekend as I'll be doing the Brecon 10 on Sunday week). I'll have worked up the the required milage by then and hope to be fitter for those hills! Looking at the two Mikes (McGeoch and Murphy) after last Sundays run I know it's not easy!
