How do I find very old Welsh Athletics Championships details?

Hello,
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
My mam competed in something she remembers as the Welsh Schools Athletics Championships in about 1951. She would have been about 17, and won a few events. I remember that my grandmother had a cutting from, I think, The News of The World about my mother winning some events but the cutting went missing when my grandmother died.
I've tried to find a record on the internet but have failed totally. Can anyone say whether these rather old records are published anywhere? I've emailed Welsh Athletics but I realise that I don't really know what I'm looking for and I, unhelpfully, don't have precise details, anyway.
