Do people find yoga useful? I'd be wary about combining the 2 as I'm very inflexible, and the yoga postures can be extreme and injurious if you push. I guess it's a case of know your soft limits and refuse to over-exert yourself. In the past I've listened to wing chung and bagua instructors who said the strange movements would strengthen the body, yet by the end of the sessions I was injured and unable to walk.

I find chi kung helpful and have practised for many years. This is a mostly very gentle martial art which works in a similar way to yoga, in encouraging the easy flow of energy throughout the body and gently stretching the body. There are several masters in Cardiff, if you'd like to find out more. I've trained with Pak Hong Lam and Yeshe Gyatso in Cardiff and world famous masters Wong Kiew Kit and Wing Cheung in intensive courses in various parts of the UK and Ireland.

I do it once a week and find it very useful. Definately a case of start easy and build into it though, "train don't strain" as they say. I think it's an area neglected by the majority of the population, especially runners.

Yes, I've certainly used it in the past & use some similar exercises now. I think Mick uses yoga also. Every now & then Sasha organises a yoga session.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast!

Yoga is great on a rest day. A workout but not too strenuous. Harder to balance for long after a long run but stretches muscles that other exercises don't.
