Yes, the Thursday date is correct.
We have deliberately avoided the annual Mob Match at Bridgend, (the night before). It gives members the chance to compete at both events, should they so wish. (although Barry is on a club night).

Hi, how do I get involved in this? I'm 36, so think I'm ok age wise?
I just joined the club a few weeks ago and have just been on a couple of Thursday club runs so far.
Would be great to do the 400m for example, cheers!

Hi Graham, good to hear you are interested in some track events. To score for the club at each event in the league season you need to be a member of Welsh Masters which is £15 / year. Details are on the website

http://welshmastersathletics.co.uk

Mel James is chairman of Welsh masters and he would be happy to take your membership form and fee. It's worth while joining in advance of the events to make sure you can score.

Much like the Gwent league cross country, the more athletes we have as a club at each event, the more we can score.

Can collect any membership forms from potential new members or renewals, next Thursday night at club.(1st May) (Passport identification or Birth Certificate required for new members)
Members joining on the 7th May (First T&F Night) probably not eligible to score points for the club.

Claire, I hear that Port Talbot are recruiting some speedsters to join in the 'Battle for Norman'. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to a knees up in the 100m but I'm struggling with my technique in the discus.....

Pole vault anyone?

It's going to be quite a busy week for members - Porthkerry 5, Cardiff Bay 5M, Masters' Track, Celebration 1 mile.

Hope that we can get a good representation at Leckwith on Wed.

Oh well Mike. Hopefully we get a good turn out. If there are any new members that want to try out the track this is the ideal event. Also 'youngsters' can run as a guest so come and join us!

I clicked on the results this morning and the majority of the results were there, Matt. Unless they were updating when you tried. I was checking how far ahead of me Mel (1st M70 in 200m and 400m) was. Strange, he didn't try the pole vault.

The 3000m was pretty competitive even if some ran the 800m as a warm up. Conditions were also pretty cool and windy.

Oops sorry Mike I didn't realise the title at the top is the link. It reads further 'results below' but the results link is only visible if you click on the title. A confusing webpage. Thanks for the news.
