Hi all,
I'm still quite new to the club and finding my feet. I was looking at the long course champs pages and saw the castles 10M event for 4th May (tbc). I can't find any further information regarding this and wondered if anyone could help?
Many thanks!
Nick

It starts by the cafe in Pontcanna fields - Cafe Castan i think it is called - at the top of Cathedral Road. It is a much used 10 mile course for Croups which takes us up the Taff Trail and back to the starting point. Then we make use of the handy cafe.
10am start I presume??

We start at the oval of Pontcanna Fields (by the cafe, entrance on corner of Cathedral Rd/Penhill Rd). We run a short loop within Pontcanna Fields and then out along Penhill Road, turn right onto Cardiff Rd (past Howells School), then next right onto Mill Lane, then right onto Western Avenue. Run past WJEC building and along to the spine road, turning right into Bute Park and straight past the riding stables. Then left onto the path that cuts across the playing fields to Blackweir bridge. Then right, running down the river path, passing Swalec Stadium and Sport Wales to the millennium bridge. Turn left over the bridge and then sharp left at the end of the bridge. You are then running on the parkrun course (in reverse). Keep going to the 'cross roads' and take a left (again this is the parkrun course). Run along the path past the playing fields on your right, and continuing on, past Blackweir bridge on your left, until you reach the underpass (which is just past the parkrun start). Turn at the cone and re-trace your steps back to the oval at Pontcanna Fields. There are marshals at strategic points but no water stops. Follow the runners in front, unless you can run sub-55 in which case you're the lead!

Race "start at 9.45am. You can turn up and register between 9.15 and 9.30am at the Start" - see Phil's new post. Also his description of the course is slightly different to mine above. I'd better get it right on the day!
