PLease be aware that owing to the weather the organisers have decided to reduce the distances of all races tomorrow. The timetable remains the same. See http://gwent-league.org.uk/ for more details

If anyone picked up a black bag with an extremely muddy, soggy pair of Adidas swoops and a pair of spikes in, they're mine. I thought I had everything, but it appears not. Tina.

Just a note to add my congratulations to everyone who ran today at Brecon. That was about as tough as it gets. Everyone was a hero - but, I have to say, probably not so much of a hero as those who supported or officiated. Just another day where you felt proud to be part of such a fantastic club - the greatest on the planet.

I'm really glad that mike M, paul M are ok, as far as i know Jeff is ok.. those conditions were crazy.
I hope Derrick is ok and anyone else that suffered in the conditions.. i know st johns and Brecon hospital (as i heard we really good)..
it was really good to see the members of the club pulling together.. and other runners helping each other..showing a great spirit..
it was my highest finish but probably quite a lot to do with the numbers running..but i'd rather have forgo that finish and had have had the event not run ..because its really not nice seeing those from the club in that condition afterwards..
i just hope no one is serious unwell after todays event.. at least Brecon had showers and somewhere warm to shelter. and get warm... I don't know what would have happened if it had have been bristol in those conditions..no shelter no changing..

I really have to say well done everyone that ran today. It was tough out there and well done to all that got through it. Those of you that suffered in the conditions I hope you are back running soon. Also well done to the Red Cross first aiders and the one poor ambulance driver that ferried several les croups runners to Brecon Hospital. The staff there were extremely helpful too. Sue, Paul and Mike all safe and well. We left jeff wrapped in blankets and drinking tea and eating biscuits so hope he is okay too. Derek I hope you are ok as well.

Hope everyone is feeling OK now, including all the officials who were out on the course the whole time in that horrible weather. Thanks for the support Claire, definitely above and beyond the call of duty. I'm beginning to see the appeal of running on a treadmill.

I've run fell races in bad but easier conditions than that. Awful my first dnf but I have had toothache most of the week (treated Thurs so on the mend). Managed two laps but knackered so gave up. You deserve your gwent league mugs if you do the whole series this year. Well done to everyone who turned up and made the effort.

Glad to hear that you and others are OK, Sue. Thanks to all the members who recognised the need for help. Thanks also to the officials/marshals/runners who remained and encouraged all of us to the finish line and beyond. It was a race to remember.

It was rough indeed today. There wasn't a feasible course to run, thus keeping runners out longer than necessary in appalling weather. That meant runners fell victim to hypothermia. The women suffered but heck, to see the state of the men returning was worrying indeed. Plus, the children/young people suffered and so did officials and marshals. Sorry but I think the event should have been cancelled. I hope all those affected will recover quickly.

Oli - first Croups to finish was 8th ... I have a memory like a sieve, however hopefully you'll remember whether you were 1st or 2nd Croups home!

Well done to everyone who went to Brecon, in whatever capacity. Hope whoever was in trouble won't have any lasting effects. I had a slight cold at the end of last week, and after seeing the weather forecast decided it would be stupid to hang around in that, so pulled out. Looks like the right move. I'm a bit concerned that it still went ahead, even after they announced the courses would be cut short due to the conditions, and that was when there was still the weather warning for the Saturday! Mind you, how many people would have complained if it was called off. A difficult decision for the person in charge.
