The Black Mountains Trail Race, due to take place on 16 October, has been cancelled - evidently numbers of pre-entries meant it wasn't viable to go ahead.  (I'm one of those partly at fault for this as I was planning to enter but hadn't got around to it yet....) As this is another event from the off-road champs that has been cancelled (and was going to be my final event of the year for earning points), I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on what to do about this? I have had a little look for an alternative race to add to the calendar for this year but not found anything suitable but others may have more joy? If a replacement cannot be found, then would the committee consider changing the rules (for this year) on qualifying races? With other commitments over the year, I'm sure I won't be alone in struggling to maximise my opportunities for winning points this year, exacerbated by other events from the champs not taking place this year (like the Pentyrch Hill Race). Thanks Paul - that seems like a sensible decision to me. I've never done this race but heard good things so I'm looking forward to giving it a go. 🙂
