Due to ongoing restrictions with COVID-19, we are running the Summer Series as virtual events. Register for free, run the distance on the day of the event and then upload your results! πŸ˜€

Summer Series 1 Mile is next Friday 15 May. Link to enter: https://data.opentrack.run/x/2020/GBR/css1m/

We have set up a results site, so you’ll be able to track your position as we progress through the series - https://sites.google.com/view/crevirtual2020/home

Whilst we appreciate this isn’t a real race, we still want to make it relatively fair amongst everyone taking part, therefore our only request is that you run the distance and select a course that is relatively flat, or more importantly, not downhill! Any courses that have a significant element of downhill in proportion to the race distance, may incur a time adjustment.

Look forward to seeing you virtually 😊 πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

I just remembered about this myself, so as a reminder for anyone else who might have 'virtually' forgotten Confused :

Summer Series 2 miles is this Friday

It's getting a bit warm for my liking so it may have to make it a very late night / very early morning session!

Martin, based on how warm it was running at 6pm last night (and how much more pleasant it was at 7am this morning) I am definitely making sure I get out early on Friday morning.

Definitely good fun and a decent (much needed) bit of motivation too!
I took your advice Jenny and managed to do it before 7am, which made for slightly less oppressive 12C conditions!

Another great virtual turnout by Les Croups by the looks of it!
Not to mention some really awe-inspiring times by participants of a wide range of ages and abilities.
I'm truly amazed by the capabilities of the junior runners out there and probably even more amazed by the achievements of those at 'larger number' end of the veteran spectrum!

Next one (3 miles - basically just Parkrun) is in two weeks: 12th June 2020 - NB. This is a reminder for me as much as anyone else!

Well done Martin! Wish I’d taken my own advice - got up at 6am, but didn’t get out the door until half seven, so started at 7:45 which was already too warm! Definitely going to make sure I get out early for the 3 miler.

Agree, there are some very impressive times, and particularly at either end of the age spectrum.

I know the feeling Jenny!
It's relatively easy to 'get up' early but so much harder to 'get going/running', especially when you're trying to push your limits like in these time trials.

Here's the link to sign up for this week, particularly for people like me who don't use facebook - CSS 3 Mile - 12th June 2020

It looks like it'll be an overcast and humid one from the weather forecast. No escape for the wicked!

CSS 4 Mile this Friday for anyone who's still game - CSS4 - 26th June 2020

It's set to be a warm one too!

It’s definitely going to be a warm day on Friday - I need to get out early before it gets too warm (and find myself a decent 4 mile route)!
