I'm thinking of organising a virtual relay marathon to raise a small amount of money for Mind Cymru. I have a friend, Jon, who had poor mental health all his life and recently died and I'd like to do something in his honour.
If there are at least ten people interested I'll set up a just giving page, you then register to run by paying £5 into the page.
All you then need to do is run 2.62 miles and send me details of when, where and what your time was. How you measure the distance is up to you, you could for instance jog the distance using a gps watch, and then race back the way you just came, timing it on a stopwatch. You can then post the details on this thread and I'll compile the results and total time for the marathon.
I'd look to organise this for runs to take place between the 2nd and 9th May so as not to clash with the short course series.

Great, I have a team! Don't let that stop you if you still want to join though, I can start another team. I think even more people than usual will be needing organisations like MIND in the coming months so it's good to be able to help them along.

Found a 2.6 miles course and tested it - 22:42 but I think this can be bettered next week.
Looking forward to the challenge.

Thank you for your support. You have helped me to do something in memory of my friend, and raised £110 for MIND. I know this is a time when we are constantly being asked to give to a variety of good causes so I am very grateful for your donations.
Please do your run sometime between now and Sunday 10th May, and post your time on this thread. It's just a bit of fun so don't worry about posting links to strava or anything (To be honest I'm not that tech savvy so probably wouldn't know what to do with them if you did!) If you want to add anything else such as start and finish point please do.
Once I have all the details I'll work out the cumulative time and put a short report together.
Once again, thank you for your support and I look forward to seeing the times.
