A few of us did this on Sunday, me and Brian I know of and think I saw a few others around. Great fun event, but very disappointing that they have no prizes for the winners. I've done this event every year since it started in 2009 and it was the main event that made me want to get quicker and train harder to finish somewhere, so each year I've finished higher up until I was 2nd last year and finally won it this year. Unfortunately, despite there being higher entries and higher costs each year, the prizes and rewards have got worse and worse until this year they scrapped them altogether. Not even a small trophy or medal for winning. I know that prizes aren't the reason we compete, but it's nice to get something. It's not like they'd ever get rid of Olympic medals! Anyway, there is a chance of a prize! You have a photo taken after finishing with your time (they got those wrong this year too) by their sponsors Tissot. The photo that gets the most 'Likes' on Facebook will get a very expensive watch as a prize. So my plan is to try and win this watch. Last year 227 Likes won. I'm up to 180 so far so getting there! If anyone is on Facebook, please could you click on my photo and then Like it, and if you can, then Share it to try and get more people to Like it!
