Just like buses.... noticed another local Off Road Championship race. How could I miss it? Another classic. " 33nd Annual PENTYRCH HILL RACE Fell Race category: BM Sponsors: “Up and Under Outdoor Gear Ltd” Tuesday 30 APRIL 2019 at 7 p.m. Registration: Pentyrch Rugby Club by 6.30 p.m. Minimum age 18 years by 1st January 2019 FELL RACE GRADE: B(M) Total distance 7 Miles (11.02K) of which 5 Miles (8K) is off-road 1,600 feet of climbing (488M) ENTRIES (ON DAY ONLY) £8.00 all athletesEnjoy a mixed terrain race set in beautiful countryside. Excellent conditions but a change of route last night.
The descent from the top on the Pontypridd side was diverted along an unforgiving contour, followed by a precipitous descent along a rocky, narrow path. Tim and others, I'm sure, will confirm.
Luckily, the weather was docile.
Thanks to John Gough and his superb team of volunteers (including at least three LC- John G, Grae D and Mike D) for an excellent race.
Sorry, but I missed the presentations - I think Katie Beecher was first lady home.
A reminder that Pentyrch Hill Race will be held on Tuesday, 28th April 2020.
