Thanks for the information Mike. Do you know whether you have to be a member of BMAF to enter? Under the eligibility criteria it seems to suggest you can run as a guest, but when I go to the entry page it says that you need an account to enter, and for that you have to be a BMAF member. I’m not sure if perhaps I’m just doing something wrong?

Thanks for the interest, Jenny.
I have a feeling that your membership of Welsh Masters generates membership of the BMAF.
I'll check with Mel James.

Thanks Mike - I’m not a member of Welsh Masters either, so I guess that answers the question.

Just been on the WM site and "You can join or renew your membership at a cost of £20 per member via the open track system by logging into your account via the link below … Contact Rod Davies, Memberships Secretary if you have a problem. You will need to send Rod a SCAN of either passport photo page or Birth certificate. https://bmaf.opentrack.r...unts/login/?next=/about/ You will need to enter 'My account' and then choose the 'view/renew button' to make payment. At the recent WMAA AGM it was voted to only use the Open Track system with the BMAF to renew or join the WMAA." https://www.welshmastersathletics.co.uk/join-now I'm uncertain whether joining this month automatically provides membership only for 2018 or it extends to 2019.

Update on the 3000m track event: "16th December 2018 - 3000m CHANGE - Entries now close at 10pm on 6th December - Entry Fee £9" I've also noticed that WM membership 2019 for new members or renewal is available from 1st December 2018. Edited by user 27 November 2018 12:10:26(UTC)

Mike did you have a phone call saying you couldn't run Sunday. I had one and was told because I could no complete in 15mins or less I could not compete due to the time slot they were given for UWIC They said it was their error and not Welsh Masters. I notice that a few of us did not put a time down. It's put me off from entering any more indoor events.

Tracey sorry you feel a negative reaction. Being effectively told "you're not good enough" can have one of two effects. You can give in to their time stipulations or you can say "I'll show you that I am good enough". That could mean training harder or perhaps training more specifically for the given event. I would also try to bear in mind the organiser's position. Any multi-event organisation requires timetabling. Any time outside the given scheduling means more time taken for volunteers, or additional costs to hire a stadium. It can be a difficult balancing act.

Not yet Tracey. I was tempted to give my 2016 time for 3000m but felt that it was inappropriate.
However, as long as I get a refund, I can always do something else....indulge in a long run on Sunday .... from Cafe Castan.
I agree it is disappointing, particularly if you are trying to get some extra Short Course Championship points.
Yep, they should have included a cut off time on the entry website.
I'll have to check the information on the website for the second meeting, 20th January 2019 (1500m).

No indication of cut off times.
Only 9 entries for the 20th January meeting, only 3 for the 1500m.

Yes , I had clocked its the club 10mile and AGM, thanks that's why I need the timetable -was thinking of doing the double , just for the heck of it! Maybe I will regret it at a later stage, but seems like a good idea from here!
