Ruth has opened entries for this year's Black Mountains Trail Race. 21 October 2018.

This race qualifies for our Off Road Championship so don't delay in booking your place, the race sold out quickly last year.

The suggestion of Forest of Dean Autumn Half marathon on 30 September is a good idea. Let's suggest it to the club championships sub committee.

The Roman Run has been discussed before but discounted as so much of the race is on road, about 9 out of the 16 miles if I remember correctly.

Replacing the cancelled forest of dean spring half mara with the autumn one at end of sept for the club championships would make good sense. The organisers have said on their website that runners who had entered the (cancelled) half will have the option to either transfer to autumn half, defer to 2019 , or transfer to alternative spring half(date yet to be announced). At least everyone will know where they stand if its decided to opt for the autumn half, and there doesn`t appear to be any clashes with other local or championship races on 30th sept, which is fortuitous .

I really enjoyed this race again this year - Croups were out in force, and won the men's and ladies' team prizes, as well as Ake coming second overall, and Claire and Janet taking the ladies' 1st and 2nd positions. Well done all!
