Don't believe this race is only 15 years old!
In its first year 1983, we provided both the winners, and 35 years on, Sandy Johnston came within one second of winning the Over 65s. Beccy Richardson, now Cameron, and living in Dublin, won for us in 1992, whilst if you've been on facebook this evening you will know that Course Director Phil Cook won this race 25 years ago in his lifetime best of 67:12. And to be really cheeky, it's the largest half marathon in the UK to be run on a legitimate course for record purposes (GNR being point to point and downhill, but they don't mention that on the BBC).
