A reminder to those who are travelling to Malaga in September that the closing date for entry is the 11th July, 2018. I know that there are a .... few... who will be competing on the the track/field or maybe the cross country/Half Marathon. If you are interested, take a look but it is pricey. WMA September 2018, EntryThe half marathon is two laps of the sea front (and a bit extra). Has anyone run along the seafront at Malaga?

However, Mel is due to run the heats of 200m this evening.

Hi Mike
Mel did run the 100 - he was 8th in Heat 5 in 16.09 seconds so a non-qualifier. This was on Wednesday.
The standard is frightening!

Thanks Mick. Just checked the 200m Heats and Mel came 7th in his heat in 33.45 seconds. A brave effort. I knew standard was frightening, Mick. Really pleased with my performances after lots of niggly injuries, this year. Both races a season's best. This is just a rehearsal for next year's European Champs, when I am 75+ and going for the 200m and 400m. Hopefully will be chosen to compete in the 4x100m, next Sunday !

Mike, You have to register 1.(pick up number etc.) 2. pick up metro pass (just buy a single to get to the stadium) 3. Make sure you are registered for your race, (each event is separate) some athletes didn't know that you have to confirm your registration and couldn't compete in their events. All three desks are close together in the stadium. The relays are in the same main stadium as the half finish on Sunday, therefore will see you there.

Not on Whatsap. Entry booklet states that you do not have to register for non-stadia events, but just check when you collect/receive your number. The Half finishes in the stadium.

Our GB Team didn't perform as well as expected. Our first leg runner pulled his abductor and we were then chasing them down, but couldn't recover. We finished last but all the teams from silver to us (5 teams) were within just one second. Japan took the Gold.
To be honest, I ran as well as I ran in the individual, so therefore not coming home disappointed with my performance.

Good for myself and Mike to see you in action in my role as personal photographer for you! The competition was very stiff. Congrats for flying the GB flag! It was again a great and inspirational experience being there!
