I'm concentrating on a sub 3.30 marathon time. I'd also like to get close to 20 mins for a 5k. That would of course mean me running, rather than marsalling a few parkruns.

1. Get to start line of VMLM.

If successful with (1):

2. Get to finish line of VMLM.

If successful with (2):

3. Anything else, happy days.

On a slightly less flippant note, last year was good for me from a short course point of view; I got my short course times closer to where I felt they should be. Long course was disappointing for me, I was gutted to have added a minute to my HM time compared to the previous year when I was only just getting back in to long distance after getting injured. My goals for this year are quite non-specific, but they are all long-course goals. I'd like to get a reasonable marathon time, and possibly target a HM PB in the autumn.

Other than that, generally evangelise on the joys of running and bore to tears any poor sod willing to listen about how they should give it a try...

2014 is all about PB, PB and PB for me, 2013 has been a good year for me with 1 PB (5K) after a disappointing 2012 season. So I am really looking to progress to another level now, you may think the following times I will be targeting might be a tall order for me, but this year I have not run so fast in the winter season i.e I am usually around 40:45 - 41:10 mark for 10K but ran a 39:28 in the Movember 10K. Anyway enough waffling from me, here are my goals:

5K - sub 18:25 (PB so far 18:52)
10K - sub 38:30 (PB so far 39:20)
10 mile - sub 64:30
Half Marathon - 1:24 (PB so far 1:26:42)

Cheers all and I hope everybody has a successful upcoming 2014 season too.

Im going all out for a sub 80 half. I would also like a sub 17.30 5km.

My pacing has been reasonable lately up until the Old Father Time Race where I totally stuffed it! I think a poor 2 weeks training and a lack of race experience didn't help but it was a wake up call.

Lots of work to do to get where I want to be. Bring on the New Year!

This year is going to be about enjoying the journey, rather than the velocity of travel. At the moment I'm pleased to be going at more than walking speed

1 Race as many off road championship races as possible

2 Race as many short course events as possible

3 Complete a triathlon in the top half of the field

4 Earn a castles vet team place

5 Complete the Raid Pyrenean in 100 hours (it's a cycling thing)

Goals and times for 2014. Well, I'm unfit at the moment and I definitely had too much
xmas turkey. But have a lot of ambitions and goals for 2014.

5k (Park Run) - Sub 18mins again

Marathon - Get to start line without injury - If get to start line then the goal would be to finish close to 2:52
But probably a sub 3hr goal is more realistic

Triathlon - As Richard above I want to do a triathlon. it would be nice to tick off an Olympic distance tri.
Also hoping to tick off some aquathlons and swims

Races - Atlantic College , London Marathon, Cardiff 10km & Cardiff Half Marathon

Having been inspired by another thread on this forum I only have one goal for 2014........

1)Sub 14 minute 5km

Once I've done this I've promised to take my girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, on a date in my brand new Audi RS8.

Wish me luck......

Not injured finally. Back running and not just slogging it out but just enjoying it too. I'm 38 and my main aim this year is to be 'Fit for Forty'!. My goals, to break 2.40 for a marathon. To run the Barry track 40! by the age of 45 I want to complete an iron-man.

Run a sub 3 hour marathon. If I get pbs in any other distances as a result of the extra miles then great :-)
