Anyone have any recommendations for the boxing day races.. Porthcawl 5 miler or http://porthcawllions.org.uk/I cannot find much out about the glynneath 5 ? www.glynneath5.co.uk/event_instructions.htm

Glynneath 5 starts at 11am and is about 1.5 miles from the registration, which in Glynneath town centre (entry on the day is possible). The race is on road with about 2.5 miles steady down hill and a climb back to the finish. It is usually well supported with many fancy dress runners. Max Boyce is usually the starter of the race. Ogi, Ogi, …..
The presentation ceremony after the race ...is like no other ….

A small group of members managed to escape the warm fireside and tackle the popular Glynneath 5 on Boxing Day. Conditions were good for running - if a little cool.
Oli Williams couldn't resist squeezing in another race and led our team home. He was ninth at the half way point but finished strongly up the climb to finish in 6th place in just over 27 min. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any of the results but other athletes included Mike Davies, Gerry Crispie, David McDonald, Ann James and Michelle Rivett.
Congratulations must go to David McDonald for a PB by over 2 minutes. Any others?
