Good luck to our mighty marathon warrior, Andy Blair as he heads to Tokyo for the start of a significant marathon challenge in 2018. Andy intends to complete all six majors in one calendar year . Not satisfied with merely the proverbial tick list, he has thrown in the challenge of completing them all in under three hours . Good luck Andy. We're all with you. A quick summary of Andy's Marathon Calendar 2018:

Did anyone notice that Martin Williams sneaked an Over 50 win at Llanelli Half Marathon yesterday, safe in the knowledge that Andy Blair was in Tokyo? Well done Martin! |

Thanks Mike and all for your good wishes
Conditions look good for Sunday in Tokyo if a little cool, it's actually snowing a bit this am as I look out from the hotel.

Training has gone well, still managing to avoid a dreaded winter virus fortunately the Japanese walk around with masks in public to try to stop spreading their germs.
Main issue at present is the jet lag, hoping its better in 3 days and I get some sleep.

I've still only got 5 marathons booked, had hoped I would have had 6 entries confirmed before Tokyo, still waiting on New York, applied on 1st day entries opened 15/01 for good for age, entries closed a week ago, emailed them a few times, they were having trouble clarifying my London time from 2017 with the link I uploaded, have since sent them 2 further web links and my certificate, but still not verified on my account and they are now not replying to my emails! The ballot including non accepted good for age is 28/02 so not much time left bit frustrating.

Good to hear from you Andy.
I'm sure that Sunday will not be as problematic as battling entry documentation or even a certain M. Williams.

Blue skies here and a cold spell predicted for the weekend, though I'm sure to be warmed by Mick's/Phil's report at the club tonight.

I trust that it's not rude.

2 56 15 I haven't seen any official results yet, not as efficient as the trains here
Good conditions cool 5-7 deg and dry but warner than home I understand

Have now had GFA time confirmed for NYC Marathon so 5 more booked now for this year.

April is going to be tough not sure will manage both under 3 but will give it a go

On Bullit train now en route for a couple of days skiing

Good luck on the next stage of your Mighty Marathon Challenge at Boston on Monday, Andy.
Conditions don't look inviting - pretty cool, wet and windy.

 Tuck in, Andy.
