Good to see the Off Road Champs list including the Kymin for 2018, listed as taking place this Saturday (6th) The current link on the Croups web site gives details for last year's race. Can someone confirm details/update the link? Thanks Edited by user 06 January 2018 20:17:47(UTC)

Here's the details. Kymin race is this Saturday 6 January at 2pm. Entry on the day from Monmouth Boys School Sports Centre (where there are changing facilities and parking). £5 affiliated. 3.92 miles. You'll need trail or fell shoes. Free sausage & chips in the pub afterwards. This is the first race in the club's off road championships. See last year's video. If you've never run this race before I'd recommend watching this video beforehand so you know what to expect. There's been a lot of rain recently so it will be very muddy. Thanks Amanda, and Rod Jones for organising
Wouldn't be the same if it wasn't muddy - and the après race chips alone worth Kymin for?

Thanks for the reminder Tim/Amanda.
The ascent is interesting, the descent is hairy.
Not to be missed.
Suitable for "the brave".
Is there a club competition this year or am I at the wrong race?

This race is a 'mob match' between ourselves and Chepstow Harriers. Everyone counts in this race and we need as many runners as we can.

Thanks Jeff.
Glad you reminded me. It's also the first of the Off Road Championship races. Who's going to set the pace? .... Who's going?
Yep, I know Cardiff City have got Mansfield in the FA Cup so our loyal Bluebirds will be torn..... but ....
C'mon, give it a go.
Weather forecast is dry but cold, honest.

FYI there is also chat about this race on our facebook page.
Rod Jones has just posted the following update:
KYMIN WINTER RACE 2pm 6th JAN. "Just been around course removing fallen trees and obstructions, all clear now although a bit muddy. I'd say fell shoes are essential. See you Saturday at Monmouth Boys School Sports Centre, registration from 12 midday."
Huw Evans, who runs this course regularly, has also confirmed a high mud level.

Thanks Amanda.
Conditions weren't too bad. Good preparation for Pontypool Park in February.
Congratulations to all finishers, especially those with an extra layer of mud to add to their 'street cred'.
Mustn't forget Rod and his team, thanks for a job well done.
Check the first Club Championship table of the year.
Oops. Short Course has also started (parkrun points)
