Found this article really interesting and wanted to share it.

For any budding ultra runners or simply anyone who has an interest in how running might reach beyond a passion or a hobby and be a medicine or have a positive impact across your career, relationships or even your whole life, this is well worth a read!

Alot of what he talks about really resonates with me and I feel I have felt similar benefits. I think when you are struggling or do not have control in all aspects of your life running can be like a great escape.

I have often felt if my running goes well and I feel I have control over it, I am alot less concerned about other issues because I have a sense of control.

I think the reason for this might ironically be that the dicipline you need to be satisfied with your running strengthens you mentally and enables you to care less about other things that would otherwise bother you. Hope that makes sense. Unsure

Very interesting read, Lyn. I'd even venture to suggest that you could get as big a buzz from 40 miles. Just depends on who you're with at the time.
