Karen, no there doesn't appear to be a 3000m at this event (or the meeting in Sept either)

Welsh Masters decided only to offer two 3k events this year, at the first track and field meet and at the welsh champs. There are other events that do offer a 3k. If welsh masters is going to do this next year may be we should think of taking it off the short course champs next year. I do know there will be an indoor 3k event at Cyncoed in December but it's not a masters event.

Sorry Karen but the only two WMAA events left on the track are at Leckwith, 29th August and Newport, 6th September. However, I'm sure that there would be another 3000 track event somewhere in the locality. I'll have a look.

Just had a look on the Welsh Athletics site and there's a Welsh Athletics League Fixture 4 at Swansea on the 29th July 2017. It will have 3000m races for men (12:36pm) and women (12:50pm). Further details are on the Welsh Athletics website.

Anybody competing? A possible speed session before Cardiff 10k.

Can we raise a relay team for the 4 x 100m? We have a fortnight (Just under) to hone our baton changes ..... Team GB did pretty well, what about Team LC?

I will be there. Hopefully we can get some more people to run, especially seeing as it is on our doorstep.

Just sent my entry to Sue Hooper.

Eager to try the 100m again in preparation for the relay/1500m.

We must have a team selection process.

Thanks Kieran, I'm sure that we can find a place for you. Anchor leg?

Lyndon, are you interested? I experienced the back draught as you flew through the finishing line last night.

A few others mentioned their availability last night (Race of Truth) but they were unsure of the standard. Tim O'Sullivan mentioned (during our sprint for the line last night) that he might be up for it. However, we've got to be in it to get the points and let the others worry about us.

In the past, Port Talbot have challenged us for Norman the gnome but recently, neither club has been able to field a team. I might add that our ladies' team has been pretty successful and should be able to compete.

Optimistically, provided runners are prepared to wait for the last event, I think that we could field more than one team on the night. What is the club record for 4 x 100m?

Lyndon, what races are you doing?

I'll take 800m, 1500m and if not too knackered - 400m :)

Not sure mate, could do all of them. There is no 3000 is there?

Just going to get my head down hang on and kick. Not accustomed to track racing at all!

We need to get a good warm up in before it starts!

At least I wont be running on my own again! BigGrin

Hopefully! Confused
