Welsh Masters League 1 Open Cardiff April 25, 2017 2017 League Time table Age groups 35-49 50-59 60+ We will allow "Guests" to compete from the age of U15 upwards
Master events will always take precedence over "Guests" events Track Field 19.00 800m 19.00 Pole Vault Hammer 19.20 200m 19.30 High Jump 19.40 3000m 20.00 Long Jump Shot Putt 20.00 400m 20.20 Relay Medley Officials & Helpers/Volunteers are always needed at the meetings, without them the meeting will not take place. Mike , they are asking for everyone to turn up early for this one as they will be using photo finish !! Here's the blurb - The 1st WMAA League meeting will take place at Cardiff Athletics Track on Tuesday 25th April 2017....As mentioned above due to a lack of officials especially time keepers we have managed to arrange for the Photo Finish to be used at the meeting. With Photo Finish the entries into the meeting are normally prior to the event or if on the day entry is allowed it closes 60 mins before the track start time....As the WMAA league meetings are very adhock we have arranged with the photo finish officials to have entries on the night BUT the track entries will close at 6.30pm... 30 minutes before the 1st track event... If you would like to compete in a track event please be entered by 6.30pm...If you know you will not arrive in time to book in then please contact SUE HOOPER on 01633 881608 or email at hooper_pencoed@btinternet.com.....I know this may not suit all but the alternatives were: to run the meeting and the track events would not be timed or to cancel the meeting. We would also suggest you arrive in plenty of time to enter and reiterate if anyone can help put with the taking of entries on the night this should help avoid congestion and frustration.

Thanks Rob. That's a great help and I'm sure it is adequate warning for those who would like to take part. Registration in the past has always been open until a least 7:30pm but "needs must". It is also noticeable that there is only one occasion when 3000m can be run at these WMAA events. A reminder that a track 3000m is one of this year's LC Short Course Championship events. If anyone is doing this you have to email Sue Hooper beforehand at hooper_pencoed@btinternet.com with your name, DOB and club. This is for the photo finish stuff.

A significant turnout last night for the 3000m and a few adventurous souls in some of the "shorter stuff " and the shot (Mal Farnham).
Delighted to see so many new faces at the event despite conditions that bordered on arctic.
Next event - Brecon, 7th June 2017.

I agree great turn out but the women were shown up by the man so come on let's get more of you out for the next one in Brecon. I will even treat you to a coffee in McDonald's in Merthyr if you come!
This is a great event and nothing to be scared of.
