Counting down the hours now to the 31st edition of the Barry 40 Miles Track Race, scheduled to start at 10.00AM on Sunday 12 March at the Cardiff International Sports Campus (better known as Leckwith Stadium). The weather forecast is 9 degrees, 10 MPH winds, and rain. In other words, pretty good for running, not so good for spectating.

Very many thanks to those of you who have volunteered to lap score: David McDonald, Nadine Ritterskamp, Jenny Martin, Jon Martin, Graeme Donnan, Liz Randall, Brian Williams (Chief Timekeeper), Chris Finill (Guest presenter), Jane Ash, Richard Self, Matt Hopkins, Aine Kenny, Terry Caveney, Mel James, Sarah Meah. And a special word of thanks to Pam Storey for making the long journey once again from Sussex to organise the race feeding/drinking.
Gary and Pip Hyatt have once again organised our mid-race refreshments, which will be very welcome as always.
A special thanks to Welsh Athletics and all the Stadium staff for helping us. There are so many people investing their time, without you this very special event could not go ahead. Thank you to our friends and neighbours Cardiff AAC for use of their room for the race presentation, scheduled for 4PM.
To John Griffin and Paul Stillman - we see you everywhere, and take you for granted, which we shouldn't. Fantastic servants of the club, and to the sport in general.
Phil and Jen, my co-directors, my heartfelt thanks, there are times in life when you find out who your true friends are.
Never seen an ultra before? Well why not come and watch! 23 athletes have spent months in preparation for this one day, and as you can see, some have travelled a long way to be here. Let's show them what fantastic hosts we are!
