Cardiff parkrun is celebrating it's 9th Anniversary this year - Saturday 18th February.

We'd like to invite everyone to come along and join us as we celebrate.

It's been a while since we did pacer's at Cardiff parkrun, so as part of our 9th Anniversary Celebrations we are going to try and supply them again. As it is our 9th Anniversary we'll go for the odd numbers, so if there is anyone that fancies pacing on the 18th February then please let us know:
19 mins, 21 mins, 23 mins, 25 mins, 27 mins, 29 mins, 31 mins, etc.

I was just out running and trying to think of a way to help people hit their targets on the Park run. Pacing people on the Parkrun you notice its that last bit that people really labour on!

I was thinking if I had somebody with me to hold the pace and spur people on I could pick it up near the finish to finish early and count people in.

If I aim to finish with enough time to get my breath I could count down 10,9,8,7,6 then +1,+2,+3 etc loudly to the side of the course near the line. 10 seconds either way. Then just clap
people in.

The worst bit is keeping going near the finish so I thought anything to take your mind off of it and to help you to focus could help.

Its something different anyway and I think if I was going for a PB it could be that extra little incentive to get me over the line in time.

Just an idea. Smile

Lyndon, how would you finish, go through the funnel to get your token and then get back out to count them down?

Happy to pace for 25, Phil.
And give a running commentary, as well as making a mental note of competitors standing too close to the front (for their ability), so I can name and shame them afterwards.
