The Great Scottish Half marathon has been found to be 149.7m short which will now invaldates the record set by Callum Hawkins and all PBs. The organisers said it was due to human error. Part of the course wasn't follwed properly and measuring on unclosed roads due to essential utilities work. The organisors have apolgizied said it would not happen again.

oh gosh.. surely attention to detail - is it that hard.
you get all that attention to detail with les croups races for bargain prices - we dont know how lucky we are.
I would be so gutted if i'd run a pb.

This is what someone said on another forum.... "I think they deserve a bit a criticism. This isn't some local charity organising a little fun run, it's a massive event run by a large company. These big races are not cheap to enter, and the least you should expect is that they've taken time and care to accurately measure the course. It's disappointing to see (as far as I can tell?) they aren't even offering any discount to enter the next event. Manchester Marathon did at least do that." If they are not they should be throwing in a discount at least! I wasn't up to it but I almost drove to Manchester to run it too. I am glad I didn't because I would have beeen livid!
