Looking ahead to enter some races later in the spring/summer. I understand that in order to 'count' in the club rankings/champs, a course has to be 'accurately measured and certified'.

In practice, what does this mean I should be looking for /asking organisers about when entering? For example, at http://www.windsorhalfmarathon.co.uk/ it says "the course is accurately measured using latest GPS tools and electronic chip timing is provided, so finishing times can be used for future event entry".

Graham Finlayson posted about this race on his Facebook so maybe he is involved with the organisation?

I think if a race claims to be accurately measured "using latest GPS tools" it's safe to assume it isn't accurately measured BigGrin

If a course is certified you should be able to find it on this site:

Hi Karen,
As Ed has said, GPS is not a measured course, there is only one method of measurement that counts and races that meet this can be found on the link Ed put up.

Just checked the event website, the Windsor event is a Trail race so would not be measured, also it would not count as a PB as it is not measurable, plus it wouldn't count for Club Champs as it is not a Road Half Marathon
