OK all you young lovers out there - forget Jenner Park being the romance capital of South Wales, when it's clearly Cafe Castan this Sunday morning!

Once again I can't make the 9:30 mass start but will be running 20 miles from 10 o'clock - same drill as usual - negative split with the last 2 miles being as close to marathon goal pace as we can make it (average of 9:45 to 9:55 miling)! Jenny and Nadine are committed enough (in all senses of the word) - would anyone else like to join us?

I'm planning to be there this Sunday, but don't think I'm up for 20 miles just yet. I need to start building back up to those longer distances. I'm missing that hill though, but maybe that's for a couple of weeks time!

Another option is 9 a.m. start for 3 or 4 miles before the standard start if anyone wants to do that.

Don't mind starting at 9 either if people opt to do that.

Well done to everyone that went out on a bright and sunny morning today! Jenny and I decided to break with tradition as we set off at 10am with Sai and Eve and headed south towards Swanbridge. 20 fun packed miles later we reflected that there really are some stunning sites nearby - the sun was glinting off the bay and the rowing club were out in force, Cosmeston looked gorgeous as did Sully and Swanbridge in the clear still air. The water in the channel was very high and choppy as the obligatory tanker made it's way into the sea lock basin as we crossed the barrage on the way back. All in all a terrific morning to be out in the fresh air - have a good week and let's do it all again next Sunday, when I'll be back to 9:30 going up the Col Du Coq Noir! Happy running everyone.

Well done David and the 10AM group. The 9.30AM group enjoyed a romantic journey on the Taff Trail and Le Coq Noir and it was great to enjoy a Sunday morning with it not raining.

Thanks for the company, David, Jenny and Sai - and what David kindly omitted to mention was that I only went out with them for the first 3 miles before turning back to do just over 6 - still qualified as a long slow run for me! I am in awe of all of you training for marathons - well done for clocking up those miles.
