This may be of interest to anyone seeking a late season half marathon. £10 entry fee. There's a shorter race too (advertised as 10K but description points out the course is more like 11.5K). As far as I can tell these races are being put on by a group of people who have no idea about races, although they are doing it for a good cause. The courses haven't been measured ~ they admit the 10K is actually 11.5K and the HM looks more like 13.5+ miles. Neither of the races are permitted either.

Ah that is worth knowing, thanks Phil.  What's the consensus now on Newport Half Marathon? I see they now have Admiral sponsorship (they sponsor events in the vicinity of their offices/workforce catchment area). http://stdavidshospiceca...s/newport-half-marathon/ I know some club members ran it last year and speak well of it.

Shame that it is not measured as a half around this time is a nice sharpener.. so know where you are at going into xmas.. there is a review of the newport half on the forum.. i believe it went out on the newport flats.. so is flat but could be windy..
it is also the same day as llaneli i believe.. and perhaps bath.. but you need a bank load to enter bath to pricey for my budget.. and prefer to keep the cash in wales..
I like running events with quite a few les croups so llaneli ticks a lot of boxes for me on that basis..
