Who's up for it?

Race details on club Home web page Kymin Winter Race 2016

You know it makes sense.

Climb, climb, climb, ....

.....

Descend, descend, ......

Cake.

Get your Off Road Championship points early.

Oh yes - Mob Match v Chepstow.

Quote from last year's event by Jogalong...

"Many thanks to Rodney and Angela Jones for putting on this great race. What good value!
There were a record 128 runners this year and we provided the first Man - Huw Evans and the first Lady - Katie Beecher (6th in race).
Despite this we lost the mob match to Chepstow Harriers. We had 26 runners but Chepstow provided 45. The mob match scores were 646 for Chepstow and 815 to Les Croupiers. We must get more runners next year!"

Can we do it?

Great race and unique in the world of fell running by offering hot showers, unlike the usual cold river. Good for spectators as the views from the top are outstanding. Good for newbie fell runners as it's well marshalled and safe. Fell shoes probably a good bet.

I think it's more of a up, down, up, down Don't get too comfortable after the first climb

Yes Richard, it's is something of a luxury to have changing rooms and a shower after a race. I suppose I tend to remember the challenging parts far more than the wiggly bits - but it is the glorious final descent that makes it all worthwhile.

C'mon Carol - you know it makes sense.

Hope to see you all on Saturday.

Don't let Chepstow walk the Mob Match.

Yep, plan to be there. Someone explain to me how the mob match scoring works please - last year Croups scored higher yet lost to Chepstow? Is it purely on numbers turning out?

Karen (and anyone else who is interested)

Points are allocated based on the number of runners between the competing teams. The last runner score 1 point and so on upwards. Team scores are totaled and the highest wins.

For 2016 I hear that Forest of Dean will by turning out in large numbers with a view to making it a 3-way mob match for 2017.

So you see we do need everyone who can to run for us.

Hope this helps and we look forward to a closer match this time - maybe we can win!

Glad to hear that you're going to be there, Sarah.

Good point about the gates ....there are some subtle strategies that can be applied at such points..... so I'm told.

However, following the correct route is, I suppose, the most fundamental ... Stu C, Julie S..?

Thoroughly enjoyed the race and congratulations to all the LC runners who took part.

Hope that you enjoyed your run Sarah and yes, we were all winners - will discuss the scoring with you on Thursday.

i hope this is a mistake but i've heard there were no ladies prizes. Is this correct or just a mistake and miss understanding from the organisers.

There was a ladies prize - it was simply overlooked during the presentation.
John Griffin will pass on the award to Clare's mother Caroline on Thursday.
