Not sure if to post this in xc or here..ok..
My feet killed after the x country on spikes..so looking for what people use and work for fell and cross country..anywhere that i can try on a few...people know..

First question I would ask is why did they kill you?
Cross country courses vary so much - dry or muddy, or specific things like tree roots and stones as at Blaise Castle.
I compromise and wear the same shoes (spikes) regardless, but then I'm not a cross country specialist.
It probably also explains why I would never even consider fells - I think you have to know your own strengths and weaknesses. I only use Run & Become.

I've been wearing my trail shoes but don't always provide enoughr grip. I've been looking for spikes but struggle find any in my size ( 2 - 3 children) and at the prices I want to pay. Run and Become is a tad expensive but you can try a few on. You might get a good bargan now or at the end of the x - county session.

Innov8 Mudclaws James - do what they say on the tin. Work on every Gwent League course and also fine for a bit on 'on-road' such as the Pudding Race. I'll be wearing mine proudly at the Riverbank Rollick where the extra grip will be essential if previous years are anything to go by! Also see Oli's facebook post

there appears to be about a few different flavours of Innov8 Mudclaws which ones work for you and do you get on line or from a shop and which one..

Mine are Mudclaw 300s (obligatory bright yellow!)
Incidentally I was in Run and Become today - they have an end of line ladies pair (in blue)size 5.5 for £35 reduced from £90 if anyone is interested!

Sometimes Inov 8 shoe sizes can be a bit on the small side so I would always recomend trying them on before buying :)

I've used Salamon Speedcross for XC. A bit more cushioning than Mudclaws. Worth a look. |
